College Professors is lookinG for?
For students, knowing their professor’s likes and dislikes is a great advantage. It will help them cope up with their style of teaching and approach them easily. Plus, it can give them the opportunity to show their best in class and impress their professor to win good grades. Most professors announce the things they love as part of their classroom policy during the first day of school, but there are still some which are left unannounced and yet are expected from students.
Here are some things that college professors usually love:
PUNCTUALITY
As a general rule, the early bird catches the worm. Almost all college professors require punctuality not only on attendance but also in submission of assignments, projects and research term papers. Because the earlier you submit subject requirements, the earlier they could check and give you grade, and the earlier they could finish their grading report. Try to submit earlier than the designated due date and you’ll surely receive a positive praise from your professor.
ACTIVE IN CLASS
A student always actively participating in class is most loved by professors. Teaching is such a hard task to do. It is very stressful and requires much energy from the teacher both physically and mentally. But seeing your students actively joining classroom discussions is very rewarding and fulfilling.
ATTENTIVE AND DISCIPLINE
A college professor is exerting more time and effort in preparing lesson plan and tries his best to present it in the most exemplary way. So it is expected that while discussing, students must pay full attention and observe classroom discipline. This is one thing that will motivate your professor to do better.
FOLLOW CLASS RULES
Avoid being naughty and notorious in class. Follow diligently the prescribed classroom rules such as wearing proper uniform, no smoking inside the classroom, no cheating during examinations, pay attention to teacher’s discussions and accomplished in time all subject requirements. If you can do all of these, I’m sure you’ll be one of those most loved students by your professor.
SHOWS EXTRA EFFORT IN STUDYING
There are some professors who give considerations in terms of extra grades to students who obviously exerted extra effort in studying. This can be accomplished by doing more than what is expected of you like double the number of pages required for your term paper, submit very neat and complete projects on time or earlier than due date, read more reference books other than your prescribed text book and share it during discussion, paying extra attentive in class by asking more relevant questions and others.

Nowadays, it’s hard to find a perfect girl that every boy wants. Many qualifications must have by a girl to be perfect from the eyes of boys. A perfect girl must have beauty, sexy body, good attitudes, sense of humor and of course intelligence. If girls have all of these things, I’m sure that she will have a long list of admirers.
As usual physical appearance matters, so it’s important to be look good to anyone because appearance is usually the first clue or basis of people to your personality. Beauty and intelligence are characteristic of a girl that must have, to attract the attention of people. These characteristics are also the criteria in judging beauty contests.
First day of our class, the day which we really don’t know each other names, attitudes and who’s the best in class. As I look to each of my classmates, I give my first impressions about them which some are disappointments in my eyes and some are made me to say wow.
A girl caught my attention as she makes a long math solution on blackboard. I was surprised and amazed to the girl, because it’s on the spot solving and she used a very complicated decimal math computation plus the fact the she is really beautiful. I was impressed to her that makes her name to be included in my crush lists. Math lover which are girls are pretty rare these days, so I want to know them all. I told to myself that I want her to be my friend and know her name. After our class, I approach and introduce myself to her. I’m lucky that her way home is the same as mine, so that we have a long time to know each other. As we communicate, I learned many things about her. She is the valedictorian of their school. Her favorite subject is Math. She is the representative of their school in different Math Quiz bees. So, it proves that she’s a bright girl. Beyond intelligence, she’s also pretty and friendly in personality that’s why I admire her. I also know that she will be admired too by my classmates because of her uniqueness from other girls. Her beauty with brain personality is what people like most.
So, I therefore conclude that a girl with beauty, intelligence and friendly personality are factors to attract people.
What have I learned from books?
Books are source of knowledge, experiences and information. But nowadays, usage of books are slowly not implemented, because of growing technology that you can now search what you want to know in just one click in computer. For me, going to library to search books for a certain research is too old style. I suggest, just go to computer shops and search what you want, through the use of internet.
There are books that we used as reference in our study; like Math, English, Science, Filipino books, etc. But there are kinds of books that give story and experiences; these are novel books, often called pocketbooks.
I admit to myself that I’m not reading novel books, story books except if the teachers told us to read it. I’m so curious why some people want to read tons of novel books with thick pages like Twilight, Harry Potter, etc. I could say that it’s better to watch the story than to read it. As I observed, those novel readers, they are good in word spell, grammar of words, essay writing, etc. So, I conclude to myself that reading novel books can improve your English skills. But for me, it’s a total hell of boredom reading novel books with thick pages.
When I’m in high school, every grading period our teacher told us to make a home reading report. Home reading report is an activity which we must read particular novel book and give its element of the story; title, characters of the story, settings, plot, conclusion, etc. In the activity, I was forced to read novel books. But actually I’m not read the whole novel. I’m just read the 1st to 5th page then I already know the whole story by imagining it. After reading it, I start my work and put designs to it with my computer skills. Grading of home reading reports are based on creativity and not on content, because I know to myself that our teacher will not read all of our work and check it one by one, it’s too many. So, I’m safe.
One of novel books I had read is Visitors: Strange Invaders by Rodman Philbrick and Lynn Harnett. I noticed this book because of its cover design. So, it made me curious to read it. As I read this book, I learned new words and its meaning. Because every unfamiliar words that I don’t know the meaning, I look it on dictionary. So, it helps. Its my first time to know the meaning of UFO, it is the acronym of unidentified flying object. I learned also the correct spell of some words that I always heard like knapsack; first I thought its knobsack, now I know the correct spell of it.
Therefore, I conclude that reading novel books is beneficial to reader especially in their English skills. Because you can meet new words, it’s meaning and correct spell of it. But then, because of high cost of novel books in markets, I prefer to read it online or just watch its movie.
